Lapworth
A Warwickshire Village
LAPWORTH FUN DAY - Sunday July 12th 2009
The village funday organised by the Lapworth Cricket Club and many others was a resounding success. £300 was raised for the Warwickshire Air Ambulance and everyone had a great time doing it. The weather, showers having caused some concern in the morning, was kind to the event and the afternoon was sunny and warm
Vintage Cars on Display
There were many stalls organised by groups in the village providing food, drink and entertainment. Among them was a display of beautifully restored vintage cars.
We were delighted that Ian Winter, the BBC 1 Midlands Sports reporter was able to be the commentator. His expertise gave great clarity to the proceedings. Thank you Ian.
The Lapworth team retained the Orcutt Cup for another year in spite of a spirited challenge from Rowington. Both teams played well and there was some good cricket.

You can see that the ball has just come off the bat in this picture.(It appears to be just above the head of the man in grey). Your photographer was close to the firing line of this stroke.
And Finally
While the cricket was the main attraction for many folk, the food, drink and amusements were the attraction for others. These children clearly thought the organ was more fun.
