LAPWORTH FUN DAY - Sunday July 12th 2009
Lapworth cricket Club is delighted to announce that following the success of the event last year 2008 another Fun Day is planned for Sunday July 12 2009. The pictures on this page are from last year.
The highlight of the day will be a cricket match against our local rivals Rowington for the Orcutt Cup starting at 2.30pm. Lapworth have held the Orcutt Cup since 2004 and will be looking to hold the trophy for a further 12 months. (You can find out more about the Orcutt Cup by following the link).
This years Fun Day will be bigger than last years event and is still very much a village event with virtually all of the groups and organisations including the Youth Club, Brownies, WI, Players, PTA, Elderberries, History, Tangent, Spear and the Village Hall involved in running game stalls, cake and plant stands, history stall and much much more.
There will be a bouncy castle, hurdy gurdy machine, face painting and a display of vintage cars. During the day a pig roast, barbecue, Henley Ice Cream will be available and in addition a licensed and soft drinks bar as well as teas and coffees will be served.
More attractions are being sourced to make this a really great day so please make sure you put July 12 in your diary and come along to the Melson Memorial Park to support your local cricket club as they bid to retain the Orcutt Cup against there bitter rivals Rowington.
Entry to the ground costs just £2.50 per adult with children under 15 free – profit on the day is going to fund a desperately needed to new triple mower for the Cricket Club. Car parking is available at the ground but it is limited so come early to make certain you get a space.
Admission to the ground is from 1.45pm with the BIG MATCH and all the attractions commencing 45 minutes later so please come along and enjoy a really great family/local day out.
A donation from the proceeds on the day will be made to Air Ambulance.
