Lapworth Scarecrow Festival 2011 17th & 18th September: Myths & Legends
A great festival organised by the Lapworth
Scarecrow Festival Committee who did a great job of it. The event to raise funds for local causes did amazingly well and early counting suggests that it raised over £8500, a truly staggering amount...well done to the organisers and all who helped and especially those who made scarecrows. Visitors were invited to vote for their favourites, and they voted for:
- Most Spectacular Scarecrow: No. 47 George & the Dragon by Alex & Zoe Bragg
- Most imaginative Scarecrow: No. 2 King Neptune By Dean Lomas
- Funniest Scarecrow:No 39 “Man Flu” by Jan Oldfield
- Most imaginative Scarecrow: No. 2 King Neptune By Dean Lomas
- Highly commended must also go to 2 runners up—No. 23 Mermaid by Kay Clarke, and No. 21 “Flying Pigs” by Justine Wittard both of which came 2nd in different categories.
Here are pictures of the wonderful scarecrows that people made. You can enlarge these thumbnail pictures by clicking on them and shrink them again by clicking the Back button on your browser. Also you can use the top menu to see some pictures from festivals in other years.
