Midweek Services at St Mary’s

This year Ascension Day falls on 17th May (Thursday!).  St Mary’s is hosting a special festival Eucharist at 7:30pm for all the churches of the Shirley Rural Cluster (Tanworth, Nuthurst,  Packwood, Lapworth and Baddesley Clinton).  We hope that the joint choirs will be singing and we are delighted that Oliver Walker of Solihull School Chapel will be playing the organ.  It will be a wonderful occasion and a good opportunity to meet the neighbouring parishes.

The month of May starts and ends with festivals, both of which will be marked with a special evening Eucharist:
St Philip and St James, 7:30pm on Tuesday 1 May
The Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth, 7:30pm on Thursday 31 May

Our Wednesday 10am Said Eucharist services continue on every Wednesday of May.

All are welcome to join the Rector for the “daily office”, Monday to Thursday in the Lady Chapel of St Mary’s.  This is:
8:30am Morning Prayer, finishes about 8:45am  (but not BH Monday 7 May)
5:00pm Evening Prayer, finishes about 5:15pm  (but not BH Monday 7 May)
Immediately after morning or Evening Prayer (Monday to Thursday) is a good time to catch the Rector in church.

Confirmation and Adult Baptism

On Thursday 3 May, Bishop David is to visit the Shirley Rural Cluster for a Service of Confirmation.  This will be 7:30pm in St Giles’ Packwood, on Glasshouse Lane.  All are welcome to come and support our candidates for Adult Baptism and Confirmation.
